Role Summary: The Inbound Material Specialist will lead the receiving team at the Jacksonville site. This is a high-profile position for a dynamic individual that has a bias for action and understands customers determine our success. In this role the Inbound Material Specialist provides leadership and support to the receiving team while driving a lean culture through the organization. Responsible for safety, overall cost, service, compliance through productivity and performance metrics.
Essential Responsibilities: This person will identify and implement actions to improve process quality, as well as accelerating and supporting change efforts aimed at achieving organizational goals. Includes activities such as processing transactions, managing processes, material management, cross functional employee engagement.
In the role of Inbound Material Specialist, you will:
Be a safety champion – establish & maintain focus on safety, driving 0 lost time accident initiative
Facilitate inbound traffic, material into stores, red-rack resolution, and indirect traffic
Work with operations to understand and communicate priorities
Be involved in discussions with other functions and teams about improvement in processes, procedures and ways of working
Be responsible for material and logistic defects root-cause investigation, analysis and resolution
Build process and reporting metrics to manage and track incoming system quality
Overcome road blocks to ensure shipment is made in line with internal and external customers’ requirements
Drive warehousing optimization/Lean projects
Develop, coach and lead shipping team, setting measurable goals and objectives to evaluate success
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution and minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, material management, warehousing, or supply chain management)
Minimum 1 year of experience working in logistics, materials management, warehousing and distribution, or supply chain management
Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Capability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Power Point, and Word
Excellent Interpersonal Skills
SAP exposure & proficiency
MBA or Masters from an accredited college or university
Demonstrated ability to identify & implement best practices
Demonstrated progressive management experience in a warehouse/distribution operations environment
Solid communication and analytical skills, including experience with communicating with others
Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within the organization
Ability to execute, multi-task, and deliver on commitments
