Role Summary:
The Technical Product Manager, will be responsible for deployment of GE Corporate Enterprise Standards and Shared Services systems for specific business units as part of a multi-generational SAP ERP program within GE Power. This will be a single largest ERP platform supporting a $25B+ business unit.



Essential Responsibilities:

As the Technical Product Manager, you will demonstrate clear communication and build strong partnership with business and IT stakeholders in addition to GE Digital, Shared Services, COE and Finance teams to effectively drive release execution.

In this role, you will:

•Partner with business leaders, COE and Shared Services team to drive delivery of shared services for the multi-year Power SAP roadmap, understand inter-dependencies of different business applications and provide pivotal leadership to the overall business stream’s program execution

•Own senior leadership communication on the delivery cadence and serve as the industry segment SAP solution architect and as key partner to solving process challenges

•Own the overall delivery/release program budget, build operating mechanisms to drive visibility to program costs and set up controls to drive cost optimization

•Lead the risk management portfolio. Drive early visibility to the upper management on key risks. Point owner of the risk register, set up processes to hold the team (business & IT) accountable for driving the risk mitigation plans

•Manage the MGPP delivery and drive focus towards the critical path items. Define and communicate key delivery milestones and collaborate with the broader team and PMO for tollgate reviews

•Drive overall coordination for Shared Services deployment cutover plans in partnership with business deployment leadership, SAP COE and Corporate teams engaged in the release rollout

•Perform as Technical leader to come up with a common solution and design for multiple business work streams; proactively wear multiple hats to assist the overall project team as needed during different phases of the program; work across hard line reporting relationships to ensure success of the team.

•Partner with data conversion team members as necessary, defining requirements and designs for legacy migrations.

•Manage change requests related to the working project plans daily to meet the agreed deadlines.

•Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features and significant products

•Own the short-term roadmap for MVPs and quarterly releases

•Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs

•Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity

•Engage frequently (80%) with the development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions

•Own and manage the backlog; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready

•Collaborate with UX in design decisions, demonstrating deep understanding of technology stack and impact on final product



Qualifications/Requirements:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

•Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in ERP implementations with focus on Finance areas or hands-on SAP configuration and design in the SAP Finance & Controlling modules, which includes full FI-CO life-cycle implementation experience from system design to post go live support (OR Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience ERP implementations with focus on Finance areas or hands-on SAP configuration and design in the SAP Finance & Controlling modules, which includes full FI-CO life-cycle implementation experience from system design to post go live support OR Doctor of Philosophy with 3 years of experience in ERP implementations with focus on Finance areas or hands-on SAP configuration and design in the SAP Finance & Controlling modules, which includes full FI-CO life-cycle implementation experience from system design to post go live support)


Eligibility Requirements: (Country Specific)

•Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.

•Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen

•Must be willing to travel up to 35%

•Must be willing to work out of an office located in Atlanta, GA



Desired Characteristics:

•Experience running large scale SAP rollouts in mid-large size enterprises working in Agile engineering environment

•Deep understanding and working knowledge of SAP FI/CO. Exposure to implementations involving heavy use of other SAP modules such as SD, MM, HR and Integrations with external systems

•Strong hands on experience in SAP delivery methodologies and cross functional process design, delivery and change management. Ability to understand end to end solutions extending beyond SAP modules

•Have the ability to understand business requirements & requisite processes to enable translation to software requirements, as well as to demonstrate & influence business partners to leverage industry standard processes & out-of-the-box configuration capabilities in SAP (and necessary bolt-ons) to satisfy business needs.

•Experience with a large transformational effort is desired. Proven experience in working effectively in a matrix organization model. Strong communication skills, ability to develop partnership with cross functional teams and develop an inclusive & collaborative environment

•Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts

•Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the scrum team. Balances value propositions for competing stakeholders

•Strong business and systems acumen with clear thinking abilities to drive desired outcomes

•Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to analyze impact of technology choices and to drive market timing decisions

•Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions

•Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas

•Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team

•Ability to remain flexible and adept to learning new technology, systems and business processes will be instrumental to be successful on this role in addition to embracing FastWorks / Agile approach to project delivery.

•Shares knowledge, power, and credit, establishing trust, credibility, and goodwill

•Able to work under minimal supervision

•Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity

•Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility

•Skilled in providing oversight and mentoring team members. Shows ability to effectively delegate work
