Role Summary:
The Staff Cyber Security Architect works on multiple projects as a project leader or internal consultant. You will also work on projects for components of the domain and either multiple technical or functional domains.

Essential Responsibilities:
As the Staff Cyber Security Architect, you will:
  • Collaborate with software development, solution architecture and support teams during the design phase to build secure by design solutions
  • Establish and communicate new secure design patterns
  • Lead projects to drive the assessment, operationalization and adoption of new technologies, platforms, tools and frameworks
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, automation and operations teams to establish continuity of security requirements
  • Participate in complex software development projects in the role of a Cloud Security Architect
  • Lean in to enable the use of cloud-native services from a variety of IaaS providers and platforms, such as AWS, Azure and CloudFoundry through a secure by design strategy.
  • Educate teams across GE Power on new cloud capabilities and design patterns through talks, blog posts and group discussion forums


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems (IS), Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Unix like operating systems (e.g. Linux, OSX, BSD)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Windows server technology
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, OpenStack)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with software development (e.g. Java, Ruby, Python, JavaScript)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with secure development life-cycles
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with identity management and authentication

  • Eligibility Requirements: (Country Specific)
    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
    • Must be willing to travel


Desired Characteristics:
  • Understanding of service oriented application design
  • Experience with software configuration management tools (e.g. Git, SVN)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
  • Experience with PaaS (e.g. CloudFoundry, Heroku, OpenShift)
  • Certification in one or more cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of security standards including ISO 27001, NIST or SOC
  • Secure networking expertise
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
