Role Summary:
The Manufacturing / Programming Engineer will develop machine code for a variety of Lathes and Machining Centers using NX CAM software. The engineer will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:
In addition you will:

  • Support and meet production schedules, driving productivity, and quality initiatives all within budget boundaries
  • NX CAM Programming - expert level required
  • Tooling / Holder selection - expert level of understanding
  • Plan and implement process development and improvement
  • Determine safe manufacturing processes that produce a quality product in the most efficient method possible
  • Investigate and apply new technology
  • Assist supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems
  • Identify the most cost-effective process to manufacture parts
  • Promote and build a positive working relationship with hourly team members
  • Knowledge of operating Machining Centers and controls

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED and a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing process or methods planning or value engineering environment

    Desired Characteristics:
  • APT – Programming knowledge highly desired
  • NX CAD Drafting /Modeling experience recommended
  • Strong organization skills
  • Knowledge of engine components, manufacturing, assembly, testing and quality methods, procedures, systems and requirements
  • Ability to develop alternative approaches to solve complex problems
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of production cost and measurements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proficient in the adaptation of concepts, theories, and principles to analyze problems
  • Knowledge of TIG, PTA, EBW, Resistance welding, and Torch / Vacuum brazing
  • Familiarity with and the use of CAD and manufacturing software
