Role Summary: The VP – Product Cyber Security will work under the direction of Chief Information and Product Cyber security officer, and GE CTO of engineering for Global Research and is responsible for developing the end-to-end product Cyber Security strategy, including control framework implementation, risk assessment and product security reference architecture for all GE business segments.
He/She will lead a dedicated team and a cross-functional team of product Cyber Security leaders across GE businesses, to enhance security by design and own the security development lifecycle framework, policy and plan. This includes penetration testing and red team engagement management, training and security standards for product engineering. This leader will also ensure he or she partners with other cyber leaders on an integrated risk management strategy including product incident response, and enterprise level product cyber exercises.
The VP - Product Cyber Security will also act as the subject matter expert and thought leader for the organization, and contribute across the business in all areas OT security to ensure an integrated enterprise and product risk management framework is achieved. This leader is also expected to represent GE in commercial opportunities showcasing GE’s “Edge to Cloud” Product Cyber Security strategy.
Participate as a member of the senior leadership team in establishing the strategy, direction and controls to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately and the organization’s resources are used responsibly.
Develop and execute a strategy around the integration of Product Cyber Security across GE businesses.
Manage metrics reporting of the product cyber security risks across the GE Business Unit's portfolio of covered products.
Provide regular metrics and reporting to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the services, facilitate appropriate resource allocation, and increase the overall maturity of our products & capabilities.
Stay abreast with current & emerging IT&OT cyber security threats and security technologies.
Serves as a recognized expert and resource leader for process focus areas.
Deliver action plans to anticipate and respond to Product Security incidents.
Execute team management activities focused on employee recruiting, development, performance management, compensation and leadership.
Assess, define and execute talent transformation plan focusing on technical talent growth, insourcing critical skillsets, talent recruitment, alignment and growth.
Execute organizational oversight, aligning team for successful delivery and partnership with security and business leaders.
Major personal performance objectives for this role in the first 12 months are:
Lay out the plan for all next gen products and have this adopted as a control framework
Ensure products have been tested and accepted
New Product Introductions (NPI) are adjusted and functioning
Ensure supply chain providers equally adhere to this controlled framework
Create a strategy and framework for all business segments for Edge to Cloud scenarios
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a STEM related field
12+ years’ experience in Information Technology and or engineering
7 + years’ experience in Cyber Security
5+ years of experience in product development or product support, ideally in both a hardware and software environment
