Role Summary: The Americas Sales Leader is responsible for managing the overall Sales effort supporting the region to ensure attainment of revenue and orders and growth targets related to all product lines. In this role, you will manage internal organization and matrix network for optimal performance and output. In addition, you will be responsible for meeting / exceeding assigned targets in a customer facing role that will win business.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Americas Sales Leader, you will:
Be responsible for selling product(s), services, parts, solutions, or projects
Develop vision a important market on the level of a product line with a long term perspective
Lead business development planning processes for this market
Have knowledge of sophisticated products, product lines and systems requiring and knowledge of the environment where the products or systems will be used
Coordinate sales teams involving engineering, legal, risk, finance etc.
Be able to develop and execute on growth plans while meeting short term business objectives
Be responsible for earning customer trust through solid execution – establish win / win partnerships and deepen relationships
Focus on programs that are aligned with business strategy and ensure resources are aligned properly
Be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the sales force within regions / markets of customers
Lead and motivate a team of sales professionals to solicit new business and / or retain and penetrate existing business in order to drive growth
Develop and drive the strategic growth vision and objectives, including participating in essential operating rhythm processes as a member of the leadership team
Implement the execution framework on identified opportunities, which includes the orders forecasting, to deal closure
Manage assigned initiatives to maximize long-term to maximize profitability
Create processes to seek new and / or additional income / business development opportunities
Establish, cultivate and maintain customer relations at appropriate decision-maker levels
Monitor, analyze, and understand market activities to continuously update the business on all region dynamics including in-depth competitive assessments
Develop effective market and transactional strategies in line with the business objectives
Lead the development of sales opportunities and coordinate with the business lines sales support groups
Drive Commercial process improvements and leverage tools for growth (SFDC, M/H, etc)
Develop a world class team focused on meeting the Customer and shareholder objectives
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Business or Marketing
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales Origination
Ability and willingness to travel to up to 75% of the time
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
Proven track record of account management and sales success
Understand the various financial instruments used by customers to conduct business
Strong negotiation and sales leadership skills
Prior experience selling contracts / products with technical content of substantial value
Ability to accept constructive criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations including continuing to persevere and remaining calm in challenging or frustrating circumstances
Ability to work with a matrix organization in which you will take direction and lead others within various functions
Able to develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels, including the CEO staff level
Customer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into profitable business solutions
Able to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external customers
Strong oral and written communication skills
