Role Summary: The GE Ventures Associate Marketing Intern will work with GE Ventures industrial portfolio and help implement and manage projects to enhance the GE Ventures presence. The selected candidate will be able to balance multiple, simultaneous projects, across various industry sectors (Energy, Lighting, Internet of Things, Advanced Manufacturing and Enterprise Software) and operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Help the investment team in charting out the overall software venture enablement strategy and rollout for global incubators ( under the GE Predix )
Market Research: (a) Identifying venture capital firms ans startups to target (b) online research to profile specific firms/individual contacts and update in salesforce. (c) Continue to build out the benchmarking of other CVCs and the competitive landscape from public information online
Work with investors to properly update and implement tagging of our existing database of venture partners as it relates to software investments.
Work with operations and finance teams to update salesforce system to accommodate the necessary input for implementation and maintenance over time.
Work with communications to support implementation and campaign planning as needed
Support marketing & communications to implement premier partner event(s), and other premier partner ideas for top partner segment
Understand and communicate new marketing and communications methodologies and tools for GE Ventures consideration (such as Marketo)
Manage project plan and set up regular operating rhythms on implementation tasks
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, or related field
Experience with segmentation, salesforce, database management, market research. Relevant undergraduate and/or graduate level work and course work to be considered.
Some course work or prior experience in marketing, market research, strategic marketing, or marketing operations preferred
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills- demonstrated ability to digest complex information into a clear message.
Able to operate in a highly matrixed organization
