Role Summary: The Customer Application Engineer provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will, work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Customer Application Engineer, you will:
Interpret customer specifications and drawings as they apply to Switchgear and Switchboard equipment and related products in accordance with quotes
Prepare diagrams, schematics, elementary drawings and physical lay-outs for manufacturing function
Create detailed bill of materials for switchgear and switchboards projects
Obtain customer approval of prepared designs, protective relay application, instrumentation and control
Support manufacturing, test and field teams
Interface with customers, sales, marketing, vendors and field installation services personnel
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific or other technical position)
Minimum of 1 year of experience with electrical power systems, preferably in switchgear / switchboard control and protection relaying circuit design
Ability and willingness to travel as required
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / project
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills
Experience with switchgear ANSI, IEEE, NEC standards
Knowledge of PLC programming
Computer skills - Micrsoft office
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
