Role Summary:
The Service Solutions Sales Manager for Switchgear Repairs will be responsible for driving profitable growth of the IS Service Solutions Repairs product and service offerings at industrial, utility, government, and large commercial end user customers in the Charlotte Service Territory (NC, SC, VA, GA, FL & East TN) with focus Switchgear repairs, upgrades, refurbishments and retrofits.

Essential Responsibilities:
As the Service Solutions Sales Manager for Switchgear Repairs, you will:

  • Be responsible for orders growth in Switchgear repairs, upgrades, refurbishments and retrofits, and other niche offerings as supported by local and network of IS Services Industrial Service Centers in North America
  • Meet and exceed individual orders targets with focus on convertibility and profitable growth
  • Develop and provide proposals and presentations to customers that convey the IS Services Industrial Repairs portfolio of repair services, specialty segments, and service center capabilities geared to specific customer segments / targets
  • Develop new customers and grow existing customer market share
  • Develop customer relationships from transactional to enterprise selling level
  • Work closely with IS Service Solutions sales team resources to maximize customer touch time and opportunity identification
  • Work with Service Center Mangers and Specialists to assure timely execution, completion, and delivery of proposals
  • Forecast pipeline of opportunities including Orders and Sales for the Charlotte repair centers switchgear portfolio in GE's CRM (Salesforce.com) system on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of all opportunities and disposition opportunities as they evolve in Salesforce.com
  • Provide competitive market feedback to the business on any proposals, win or lose, via use of Salesforce.com
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, customer trends, installed base and market levels of pricing for supported classes of services or products
  • Profile key customers in each business segment in your region to drive value selling
  • Collaborate with the Shop Specialists, Application Engineers, and Territory Sales Managers, as needed, to qualify, quantify, and close key orders
  • Provide customer insights to key service offering gaps for New Product Implementation development and capital expenditures for shop enhancements


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Marketing, or Business from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, or hands-on experience with GE's Industrial Services portfolio)
  • Minimum of 4 additional years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, or experience associated with the Industrial Switchgear service and repairs

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a valid passport and driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to meet GE requirements for operating a company vehicle
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the Charlotte Service Territory
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.


Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 3 years of experience in Switchgear Field Services and repairs – Inquiry To Order and/or Order To Remittance
  • Knowledge of GE Industrial Solutions product and service offerings
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of external / internal customers
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment
  • Experience in successfully delivering business results
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities simultaneously
  • Experience in establishing value-based pricing combined with reality-based product and service differentiation

  • Industrial Market connections in the assigned territory
  • Ability to discuss complex repair technology in a clear and concise manner with a variety of audiences
  • Consistent track record of meeting performance objectives
