Role Summary: Maintain quality of USCAN Services operational data and ensuring data is timely available, accurate, complete, and secure for consumption by business users across the board. The role includes managing the processes, people and technology that will provide effective data management. Review existing data models to understand the challenges of current reporting environments on a regular basis. Gain functional knowledge of current business practices, processes and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities: • Work closely with the USCAN Services Data Governance Council to drive overall data strategy of the business in a cross functional team. • Establishes data quality rules and definitions consistent and aligned to the business strategy • Develops data quality metrics that identify gaps and ensure compliance with standards across the organization. • Establishes data quality process, governance, and issue tracking process tools. • Establishes processes to continuously monitor data quality. • Ensures processes are in place to proactively detect, correct, and prevent invalid data values. • Ensure development of relevant training materials for end users. • Recommends enhancements to data acquisition processes to improve accuracy of data warehouse data • Assists end users with troubleshooting technical issues, conducting queries and retrieving data from current business systems • Collaborates with cross functional data management teams to ensure data integrity and consistency. Support data quality clean-up efforts by leveraging existing organizational tools. • Analyzes and documents functional processes and controls ensuring gaps and deficiencies are inventoried • Assists with development of Data and Process improvement plans
Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED and two years progressive experience in a technical/IT or related field. • Experience and solid understanding of data management and data governance strategies and best practices • Excellent database skills – ORACLE, MS SQL Server • Experience in methods of Data profiling and Data Cleansing • Experience in using any of the existing Data Quality tools used in organizational data quality analyses • Ability to find RCA of data issues, analyze information and draw accurate conclusions for multiple business applications • Ability to prepare and present data flow diagram and data quality standards and metrics • Ability to articulate technical specifications, business requirements and systems • Strong project management, problem solving, and communication skills
Desired Characteristics: • Understanding of healthcare business environment and experience working in cross-functional team environments • Working knowledge of Reporting tools – OBIEE, Spotfire
