Role Summary:
GE PS Engineering is looking for an engineering leader with proven track record and experience in power generation plant technologies, commissioning, or O&M that is seeking a challenging and rewarding career path leading the Total Plant Solution (TPS) engineering assessment team in MEA. This position spans a wide range of OEM and non-OEM technologies across combined cycle gas and thermal power plants requiring high level of customer interaction and exposure to GE technical Leadership

Essential Responsibilities:
-Lead regional MEA TPS assessment engineering teams , owning all aspects of plant assessment activities including budget, schedule, activities, EHS, and final delivery of assessment reports
-Work closely with regional and global performance teams in order to carry out essential tasks related to do a baseline of customer plant KPIs
Plan and supervise the plant assessment team engagement and follow thru with report out recommendations
Assigning engineering resources to complex projects to ensure proper scope coverage and risk mitigation
-Work closely with global resources and maintain a global pool of engineers that can be deployed in the MEA region during times of need
-Provide quick deployment of pre-assessment teams when required by customer or PS leadership
-Maintain quality work and uphold strongest practices of EHS policies within the team with zero tolerance of deviation
-Promote Digitization and simplification of assessment activities without compromising mission critical details
-Provide technical management throughout the process and work closely with fulfillment teams in assuring a smooth handover and execution with mitigated risk plans
-Embrace and drive a culture of safety and integrity and work in a boundary-less fashion and fostering the early detection of quality issues and risks as well as promoting lean processes that drive fulfillment excellence

Qualifications/Requirements:
-Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
At least 7 years of management experience in an engineering or technology role
-Good working knowledge of general turbomachinery and power plant building blocks
Some experience with power plant design and upgrades, including system analysis and testing
-Detailed oriented management skills with ability to capture mission-related details without compromising speed of delivery
-Experience successfully communicating with leaders and customers, both verbally and in writing
-Ability to lead in a matrix organization with regional and global footprint
EPC experience is a plus
-Ability to build a new team from ground up
-Mobility within MEA is a must

Desired Characteristics:
Advanced Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience managing complex projects in a multi-disciplinary approach
Experience managing regional or global engineering teams
Program management experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Fluency in Arabic language is a plu
