Role Summary: The M&G Specialist will be expected to directly oversee hourly employees, while providing technical guidance to employees to ensure product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications. In this position, you will also work closely with factory, customers, and engineering to eliminate issues and communication barriers that may effect quality and delivery requirements. These assignments may cover projects in both the Motor or Generator Departments.
Essential Responsibilities: As the M&G Specialist, you will:
Focus on customer quotes, job tracking, scheduling of jobs and providing direction to hourly employees
Improve quality assurance and drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures and requirements consistent with GEEN/GENE processes and procedures
Focus on continuous improvement of shop quality, cycle, and delivery performance through Six Sigma
Utilize QCR system to log shop issues and drive resolution
Provide customers with pro-active Motor and Generator technical & problem solving support
Work with and lead Motor and Generator work force to track and resolve EHS & safety concerns
Bachelors Degree (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of Motor and Generator experience)
Ability and willingness to travel as required
Ability and willingness to work in a shop environment
Related Motor or Generator experience
3 years of leadership experience
5 years of Motor, Generator, Service Center, or Manufacturing Experience
Strong background in interpretation of Engineering drawings/specifications, electrical, and manufacturing process planning/evaluation
Advanced Technical Degree
Certified Generator Project Leader
TOPS, COMPAS experience
Ability to manage multiple projects at once
Ability to manage time and be self directed
Ability to influence others
Demonstrated technical aptitude
Good written and verbal communication skills
Analytical and problem solving skills
Six Sigma BB trained and certified (GE employees only)
