Role Summary: Paints and refurbishes parts and devices.
Essential Responsibilities: • Painting using the application of differently-based paints. • Prep of product for painting (Taping and wipe down, sanding). • Repair of product, (cracks, broken formers, cosmetic integrity) using grinding bench, nylon braid reinforcement and click bond. • Fabrication of missing former parts, engineering prototypes, modification of test fixtures. • Modification and repair of non-conforming parts from MRB and Manufacturing. • Painting and repair of product from, Service and/or Manufacturing. • Upkeep and cleaning of all equipment daily, pertaining to job. (Paint guns, paint booth, bench grinder, drying oven, and all work related areas.) • Keeping an inventory and submitting requisitions to sourcing, for all paint, paint booth, and bench grinder supplies. • Maintaining a daily usage and waste log for OSHA compliance. • Mentor and train other painters. • Maintain a high level of productivity. • Ability to follow all EHS safety and quality policies and procedures. • Ability to organize workflow, to accomplish weekly targets. • Comply with EHS and QA/RA regulations & policies

Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position 2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines 3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required 4. Training: Aware of and comply with GEHC training requirements 5. Knowledge and understanding of production process, work instructions, documentation configuration control, non-conforming & rework documentation requirements and operates within them to ensure that a device conforms to it’s specification. 6. Aware of and comply with Stop Order, Concessions, ESD, Calibration, Preventative Maintenance, Material Identification & Segregation, and Good Documentation Practices, as associated with this job type/position
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. High School Diploma/GED or local equivalent 2. 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment 3. Ability to communicate, receive and understand instructions regarding duties to be performed. 4. Passage of pulmonary exam as required by local practice or regulations 5. Ability to utilize a respirator as required by OSHA, and GE EHS
Desired Characteristics: • Attention to detail • Completion of technical training for industrial and/or automotive painting and repair • Familiar with the basic repair techniques including: o Using Bondo or putty’s to make repairs o Mixing paints from bulk materials, following formulas o Experience color matching and texture matching o Familiar with use and maintenance with various paint spray guns o Knowledge of appropriate waste disposal methods o Familiar with use and maintenance of automotive paint booths o Experienced in sanding and paint preparation.
