Role Summary: The Accounting Assistant has responsibility for assisting statutory and financial accounting. Assists with basic accounting functions, including accounts receivable, cash collections, accounts payable and invoicing.
Inputting Data into ERP or other finance-related systems
Maintaining documentation & files as instructed by policy
Respond to queries on financial information for various reporting or project requests
Communicate with customers to resolve questions
Quality Specific Goals:
Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
High school diploma / GED or local equivalent
1-3 years of experience as a bookkeeper or accounts receivable/accounts payable specialist
Basic understanding of accounting and financial reporting concepts
Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others
Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree in Accounting, Business or related field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
