Role Summary: The Americas Civil Sales Director demonstrates accountability for functional, business and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall business strategy for the Civil Avionics Product Line. This role reports to the Americas Avionics Civil Sales Leader.
In addition you will :
Execute on assigned operating plan and targets to assure that the business wins profitable sales through Technical Sales and positioning on Value Propositions
Meet or exceed operational requirements: analytical reporting, operating reviews, and pursue costs initiatives
Willingness to travel globally 30 - 50 percent of the time
Provide leadership for sales to assigned segments and customers through the formulation and execution for strategies and plans that capitalize on the customer’s strengths as supplemented by GE’s products and services
Build Global customer relationships with the assigned customers for sales
Lead sales activities and work closely with the Product Line and Engineering functions to pursue and capture opportunities
Coordinate activities and provide leadership to establish individual sales strategies obtaining appropriate approvals for pricing, and delivery
Negotiate contracts as required
Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base
Work with Marketing to develop project specific sales strategies for assigned customers
Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics / Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of (7) Seven years of experience in sales, marketing and business development in the Aerospace Industry (including experience and Knowledge in Avionics)
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
Ability and willingness to travel globally 30 - 50 percent of the time
Master's degree in Business Administration from an accredited university or college is preferred
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of significant accomplishments in Sales / Marketing / Business Development in the Aerospace industry, preferably in a role that has relationships with commercial aftermarket customers
Prior commercial sales experience in closing large and complex contractual agreements is preferred
Strategic Leadership - Creating and achieving a desired future state (vision) through influence on company values, individual and group goals, reinforcements and systems
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Analysis / Problem Assessment - Securing relevant information and identifying key issues and relationships from a knowledge base, relating and comparing data from different sources
Identify customer financial drivers / needs
Organizational Awareness - Having and using knowledge of systems, situations, pressures, and culture within the company to identify potential organizational problems and opportunities. Strong coordination and influencing skills
Ability to Develop and Foster Strong Customer Relationships
Ability to effectively lead matrixed pursuit team to meet sales plan
Ability to apply Six Sigma to improve customer satisfaction
Ability to utilize analytical software and sales tools (CMS, Excel, etc.)
Strong oral and written communication skills
