Role Summary: As part of the Analytical Instruments business, the Pharmaceutical Endotoxin Applications Specialist serves the global Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET) market with an emphasis on pharmaceutical applications-focused channel support and applications development activities.
Essential Responsibilities: The role requires strong pharmaceutical industry and applications domain expertise, particularly as it relates to BET (Basic Engineering Technology) for Water for Injection (WFI), parenteral drugs, and medical devices. Practical experience implementing, validating and routine BET analysis at global pharmaceutical companies is essential for success.
You will work closely with the Endotoxin Product Manager, applications lab and commercial team to drive growth of the BET product line by acting as applications champion across the organization. This includes defining critical product and application requirements, developing detailed sales tools, training global sales teams, conducting customer application studies, and authoring detailed case studies. The position reports to the Global Product Management Leader.
As the Pharmaceutical Endotoxin Applications Specialist, you will:
Identify new applications and markets, validate a technical fit, and help develop the strategy necessary to maximize potential sales opportunity
Travel to existing and potential customer locations globally to develop an in-depth, real-world understanding of the applications where BET is used, and drive growth of the BET product line (expected travel up to 50%)
Support field sales activity through technical seminars, trade-show attendance, presenting technical papers at key industry conferences, and support of key sales demos
Develop application notes, competitive positioning analyses, technical papers, executive summaries, and other marketing material to support sales activity
Help develop and support a consultative sales process inclusive of industry-specific and application-specific sales strategy, customer facing support materials, channel and customer training, detailed sales tool development, and applications support during the sales cycle
Support customer pilot studies to demonstrate and validate successful BET validation and routine testing strategies
Work in cooperation with the Endotoxin Product Manager to collect, analyze and prioritize VOC (Voice of the Customer) to drive product development, product enhancements and application-specific solutions
Understand applicable regulatory environments
Meet with regulators as needed to proactively confirm that products are in compliance with local / federal laws
Comply with all company policies including Quality and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety)
Bachelor's Degree in biology, biochemistry or a related life science from an accredited university or college (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Bacterial Endotoxin Testing in the pharmaceutical / biopharmaceutical / medical device or closely related industry)
Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Bacterial Endotoxin Testing in the pharmaceutical / biopharmaceutical / medical device and closely related industries
Ability and willingness to travel globally 50% of the time
