Role Summary: The person in this role defines and leads the implementation of the Customer Quality organization strategy, to minimize the risk of poor quality. The successful candidate leads improvement initiatives to achieve business excellence, and will work closely with external customers, to include the branches of the US military and the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
In addition, you will :
Serve as the single point of contact for the customer and maintain the status of expert within your area of influence
Monitor customer satisfaction and advocate for the customer within the supply chain
Partner with our manufacturing and assembly sites, as well as product line teams, to resolve hardware non-conformances and other quality issues
Review engineering drawings and specifications to understand potential non-conformances
Lead audits of engine parts at manufacturing sources with customer representatives
Ensure robust preventive and corrective actions are taken
Drive quality improvement using data-based decision making and by applying existing technologies, approaches, and methodologies
Present projects plans, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior business leaders within technical space and occasionally to senior leaders in partner technical teams
Communicate solutions across the Quality function and with cross-functional partner organizations
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, manufacturing quality, supplier quality, technical customer support, or equivalent military role
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to travel up to 20%, domestically and internationally
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Experience as a member of or directly working with the US military
Experience in Lean manufacturing, product engineering, or customer quality
Demonstrated ability to perform data and statistical analysis
Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement
Understanding of the regulatory requirements in the aviation industry
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Power user of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
