Role Summary: As the Master Electrician, you will be responsible for maintenance, repair, and installations of electrical equipment and automation at the Minnetonka Plant and being a point of contact for others in the field.
As the Master Electrician, you will:
- Perform skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for building & grounds - Perform the installation of conduit, including electrical-metallic tubing, plastic mold, and wire mold - Perform the installation of transformers, control boards, electronic circuits, coils, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, switches, fuses, and related electrical equipment - Perform additions, extensions, or alterations to electrical installation for heating, lighting, and production equipment - Troubleshoot, perform repairs, and test a variety of equipment including programmable logic control (PLC) - Perform installations and connections of equipment, lights, controllers, voltage regulators, and transformers - Inspect and perform cleaning and maintenance to electrical equipment - Determine modifications required when obstructions are met while installing electrical systems - Review and interpret electrical blueprints, plans, and schematics and determine material lists and costs - Estimate time and materials necessary to perform a job - Assist with inspections of new installations and/or modifications performed by others - Knowledge of electrical principles, applications, techniques, procedures, code and equipment - Obtain electrical permits when required - Regularly inspect and evaluate electrical equipment to ensure that it operates efficiently and safely, follow recommended maintenance schedule, and maintain records on equipment status and maintenance - Follow safe work practices and all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures
- High School Diploma / GED - Vocational certification in related field with a minimum of 3 years experience as a licensed Master Electrician
- Possess and maintain a State of Minnesota Class “A” Master Electrician license - Possesses thorough knowledge of electrical test equipment, instruments, and appliances used in the electrical trade - Possesses thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable laws, rules, and standards regulating electrical construction and installation practices - Significant work experience in an industrial environment with high level of experience in industrial automation installation and troubleshooting - Experience overseeing the work of other electricians or apprentices - Provides own common hand tools - Possesses basic drafting skills
