Role Summary:
Generation of content for product executives to convey strategy, depict enterprise solution architectures, summarize operational progress to internal and external audiences, produce executives summaries, and drive a consistent message. Brings order and crafts elegant visual content and messages that improve clarity and enable effective storytelling to a broad range of audiences.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Oil & Gas Digital product executive team in the creation of compelling visual content and stories that impactfully convey key product and solution messages and themes while adhering to the company’s brand and design
  • Be viewed as the “presentation wizard” capable of attending strategic planning sessions as well as ad hoc white-boarding sessions and quickly producing engaging Microsoft PowerPoint slides
  • Abstract the essential message from disparate sets of content, including statistical data and industry-specific analyst reports, and convey that message through the use of creative graphics, charts, and other media
  • Produce “fresh” graphics and stimulate creative re-conceptualizations of topics
  • Create material that is appropriately abstracted or detailed to the needs of each audience
  • Work cross-functionally to help colleagues design and enhance the value proposition, brand and message
  • Assist product management leaders across the org in thinking about how they build their solution narratives and how this capability serves their efforts
  • Periodically review and rethink messaging to serve business needs and reflect industry evolution
  • Develop expert domain knowledge of both Oil & Gas Digital and GE Digital products and business strategy

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM, Design, Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, New Media or Film
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in graphic design, brand, creative experience, digital marketing, digital strategy, or content production
  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Must be willing to travel (20%)
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA

  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas, Non-Destructive Testing Inspection technologies, and/or enterprise cloud software applications a plus

    Technical Expertise:

  • Expert level of skill in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Expert at simplifying and depicting complex concepts visually
  • Quantitatively oriented and able to understand market data and basic financial metrics
  • Experience as a visual storyteller acquired through work as either a management consultant, a market analyst/researcher, or marketer highly preferred

    Business Acumen:

  • Able to interact credibly with senior executives
  • Able to interpret data quickly and generate clear, actionable messages under time pressure
  • Well-read and knowledgeable of industry trends
  • Can identify gaps or exceptions to procedures and when to escalate issues
  • Understands value of getting feedback from customers and stakeholders
  • Able to effectively navigate through uncertainty and uses appropriate researching capabilities.
  • Understands flow of information, clarity and ease-of-use from a customer standpoint

    Leadership:

  • Capable of leading whiteboarding discussions with executives to develop and simplify stories
  • Listens attentively; reads and exhibits proper body language in a collaborative setting to drive effective discussion; captures specific information from the audience and validates it back to them for acceptance; ensures that the information was properly understood by reading verbal and non-verbal cues; asks both open and closed questions in a logical order to gather critical information.
  • Identifies and formally describes ambiguities and assumptions with the stakeholders. Constructs logically sound arguments based upon facts and metrics. Understands the value of a disciplined, rigorous and transparent approach to problem solving in a collaborative and matrixed environment.
  • Persists on completion of endeavors, especially in the face of overwhelming odds and setbacks. Pushes self for individual results and others through team spirit.
