Role Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual, passionate about technology to join the GE Oil & Gas Digital team. As the Staff Engineer, GE Oil & Gas Digital, this role will focus on developing impactful and innovative analytics products for GE O&G Digital. The candidate will be responsible for designing analytics for core products and solutions, leverage strong engineering expertise to develop new analytics for driving growth in asset, application & industry

Essential Responsibilities:
As Staff Analytics Engineer, you will:
• Design, develop and validate mechanical models that will be leveraged for analytics product development
• Deliver new, commercially re-usable physics based analytics to drive growth in asset, application and industry coverage
• Be able to influence from a technical standpoint across the function and business. Ability to influence at the peer level is key.
• Optimize and define new processes and tools, to enable large scale enterprise-grade analytics development.
• Deliver core product requirements & features to Product Management, Software Engineering & UX Design.
• Mentor other engineers in the domain of Modeling & Simulation of industrial equipment and systems

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related Engineering discipline
• Minimum work experience of 5 years
• Able to communicate technical details with clarity to various stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to deliver industrial grade analytics

Eligibility Requirements:
• Legal authorization to work in India. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
• Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
• Must be willing to travel
• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Bangalore, India

Desired Characteristics:
• PhD in Mechanical Engineering
• Ability to translate business needs to technical requirements, propose and validate solutions
• Demonstrates expertise in problem solving and technical innovation.
• Demonstrates capability of 'rolling up sleeves and getting hands dirty'.
• Works well in fast paced growing environment.
• Effective teaming and problem solving abilities
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Able to interface effectively with multiple levels of the organization and external customers
• Knowledge of GE industrial products, experience in delivering end to end solutions
• High attention to detail including ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

Technical Expertise:
• Strong technical expertise in systems modeling including first principles and finite element methods
• Hands on experience in modeling industrial equipment/systems
• Proficient in modeling and simulation tools like Ansys, MATLAB, Python, R
• Expertise in physics of failure modeling, residual life estimation is a plus

Business Acumen:
• Strong business analysis and problem solving skills
• Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help build effective analytic solutions
• Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
• Strong oral and written communication skills including executive level presentation skills
