Role Summary: The Measurement & Sensing (M&S) Pricing Leader will work cross-functionally with the M&S organization to develop and drive the execution of global pricing strategies designed to maximize global sales and product segment profits.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Measurement & Sensing (M&S) Pricing Leader you will:
Serve as a pricing expert for the M&S business and deliver effective pricing strategies by working closely with the regional sales leadership, global product management and marketing teams to understand regional dynamics, customer segmentations, competitive position and product / service value propositions
Through data mining of customer transaction data, the Pricing Leader will analyze industry segments, historical sell prices and discount trends and work with Product Line leadership and Sales to align product offerings and price strategies
Oversee the Special Pricing Request process, reviewing results on a regular basis and adjusting approval escalation levels to maximize process throughput while ensuring adherence to OP plans
Conduct strategic pricing assessments and recommend improvements by providing regional price guidance to reduce unnecessary discounting.
Be a price leader as the business develops new opportunities in software, service and other digital products
Work with product management to implement a value based pricing approach to support new products and services
Implement or improve price measurement capabilities that support global and operational price metrics for flow & projects businesses. Communicate results to stakeholders and develop appropriate strategies based on this information
Create and maintain pricing dashboards to measure performance vs. internal targets and external benchmarks
Partner with sales operations, marketing and product management to develop competitive intelligence insights relating to pricing and modify as needed
Lead and manage critical pricing processes such as annual price adjustments & price book release, ecommerce pricing support, Price DOA changes and other activities that support the end customer
Create product line regional price forecasts for inclusion in Long Term, Annual and Operating Plan targets. Actively work within the organization to champion the success of those plans
Be the Pricing Thought Leader for the Measurement & Sensing leadership team. Lead Price training sessions to educate Sales, Product Managers and other key functions on effective pricing methodologies and tools.
Work with broader Digital Solutions Pricing team to support improvements to business-wide pricing processes (tactical pricing inquiries, price books, DOA etc..) that can be standardized across the entire Digital Solution’s portfolio
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of pricing experience, product management and/or business intelligence experience
Master’s Degree in Finance, Marketing or Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited college or university
Experience with B2B pricing and /or complex industrial product sales
Proven data analysis experience and a solid grasp of financial modeling & techniques
Experience interacting and presenting to senior leadership
Self-starter and able to work with limited supervision
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; integrated team working style
Ability to succeed in a fast paced, highly matrixed global organization
Demonstrated direct or cross-functional team leadership skills on complex projects
Ability to quickly establish a vision, and the tenacity to drive them through to completion with minimal supervision
Proven problem solving skills and data analysis experience utilizing Tableau, SAS, JMP or other analytical tools.
Experience working with global business teams in multiple sales regions in multiple currencies
Experience with service based pricing as well as SaaS, IaaS, XaaS
SAP experience, especially around pricing conditions and procedures
Solid change management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Sales mindset and ability to work effectively with product management, sales and marketing organizations
Advanced Excel skills
