Role Summary: Perform any and all cell support duties including, but not limited to, coolant management, machine lubrication and cleaning, parts cleaning and general shop housekeeping. Required to work with minimum supervision. Perform other duties as required.
Set-up and operate all types of numerically controlled and manual grinding and related machine tools
Perform complicated precision operations to close tolerances working from blueprints, complicated drawings, verbal and written instructions, sketches, and operation sheets
Complete inspection of major and minor parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies and components to determine the accuracy of workmanship and functional performance
Dimensional inspection of parts and assemblies, including identification of non-conformance characteristics per instructions / procedures with improvised setups using height gauges, surface plates, indicators, etc.
Perform any and all cell support duties including, but not limited to, coolant management, machine lubrication and cleaning, parts cleaning and general shop housekeeping
Required to work with minimum supervision
Perform other duties as required
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum of 3 years of machining experience with CNC lathes and / or mills and a minimum of 1 year grind experience OR a minimum of 4 years of grind experience
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :
Ability to lift, move and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 40 lbs. (with or without reasonable accommodations)
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Ability to verify and inspect own work using micrometers, plug gauges, height gauge and surface plates
Ability to run both CNC and manual equipment concurrently as required
Ability to work under general direction with minimal supervision
Excellent attendance history
Ability to produce error free products
Accurately completes paperwork
Strives to meet or exceed job requirements
Experience with machining high temp material (inconel, stainless, titanium, etc.)
CMM operating experience
Experience machining to aerospace standards and specifications
Ability to work from and follow written instruction precisely (MOS, routers, engineering drawings)
Set-up experience and ability to load offsets and perform program edits
