As an Infrastructure Architect you will focus on the execution of GE's long term data center strategy. You will focus on understanding the data center landscape and markets to ensure that GE is appropriately positioned within those markets and evaluating new markets to determine whether they are viable markets based on GE's needs.
Provide support to the data center strategy and operational teams.
Manage Requests For Information (RFIs) geared towards data center expansions or acquisitions.
Evaluate third part reports to build Supply and Demand reports for all major data center markets.
Evaluate third part reports to build total cost of ownership reports for all major data center markets.
Assist with the development and management of GE's long term data center strategy.
Assist with the development and management of data center standards that are based on industry standards across all GE data center and IT rooms.
Implement industry best practices where applicable while focusing on productivity and optimization of electrical and cooling configurations.
Engage, leverage, and drive simplified processes.
Work collaboratively with the compute, network, storage and data center operations teams to deliver solutions to the businesses.
Must be able to work in high stress situations and provide support a 24x7 team.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information management or other technical IT field.
Minimum 5 years of data center experience.
Understanding of both Colocation and Wholesale data center markets.
Understanding of both kW and circuit based pricing model within the different data center markets.
Knowledge of how electrical usage is managed and billed within the different data center markets.
Must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Knowledge of industry best practices in the data center industry.
Strong analytic skills to help with predictive analysis across the organization.
Possesses understanding of core business processes and preparing financials to obtain project approval.
