Role Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated technical Lead who is passionate about technology to join the GE Oil & Gas Digital team. As Senior Staff Data Engineer, GE Oil & Gas Digital Data and Analytics, you will focus on driving and delivering impactful and innovative enterprise-grade ERP analytics and data models. You will be responsible for helping to build a team of data engineers specialized in ETL, streaming analytics big data and data reuse.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Senior Staff Data Engineer, you will:

  • Be responsible for the development and delivery of analytics products that
    conform to Oil and Gas technology principles and maximize data re-use and ease of access
  • Work closely with Agile & Analytics teams to deliver products in the Data Warehouse Space
  • Support development of MDM and Data Linage
  • Be responsible for developing and coaching employees within the function
  • Prioritize and scale Data Warehouses Architecture efforts in close coordination with O&G PLs and other Finance IT stakeholders
  • Provide ERP experitse
  • Able to communicate to both highly technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
  • Analyze and develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture environment
  • Drive innovative and creative solutions to decommission traditional warehouses and drive cutting- edge analytics from the Data Lake
  • Assist in talent development in the areas of data analytics, data modeling and ETL
  • Engage in partnership discussions around analytics and data sciences in the context of technical content, business models and interfaces to Oil & Gas DT

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working with Data Management, Business Intelligence, Big Data, or Data Analytics including minimum 2 years’ experience managing a global team of architects and data engineers

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Proven experience working with global enterprise data (e.g. Finance ERP, Supply Chain etc.), OLTP/OLAP data modeling and design
  • GB/BB certified - Able to use tools (analytics, CAP, Six Sigma)
  • Strong program / project management skill
  • Strong data engineer skills (e.g. statistical analyses, advanced data visualization, data mining, and data cleansing/transformation)
  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT experience
  • Should have very strong experience in large ERP (preferably SAP or Oracle) Transformation programs and support engagements across multiple locations
  • Experience in driving business outcomes from ERP transformation programs
  • Deep expertise in 2-3 ERP functional or technical areas
  • Experience with Agile management practices and experience in working in cross functional agile teams
  • Hands on experience in developing predictive models and evangelizing them to a broad audience
  • Programming with one or more languages (Python, R, Java, C, C++)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions with
    Hadoop/Spark/Hive/Pig/NoSQL/Beam/Docker
  • Evangelizes modern technologies to development teams, stakeholders and GE executives
  • High attention to detail including ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Strong business analysis and problem solving skills
  • Evaluates products & processes to assure compliance.
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
