Role Summary:
The Electrical Package Systems Engineer develops and implements electrical control solutions for Gas, Steam or Hydro turbines. It’s a demanding and fulfilling job, combining turbo-machinery and balance of plant expertise, controls fundamentals. You will design the solution; see it through manufacturing, working directly with the customers at domestic and international sites. In this role, you will:

Essential Responsibilities:
• Apply electro-mechanical engineering principles and knowledge of industry standards to support system design, testing, and troubleshooting as part of a project team
• Be responsible for system design including power calculations, component selection, certification, layout and wiring drawing generation, and hardware Bill of Materials (BOM) development on assigned projects
• Implement design changes as defined by the Project team
• Interact with Commercial, Technical, Manufacturing, and Sourcing functions to produce control solutions
• Review contract documentation and customer specifications for control system electrical hardware design requirements
• Be accountable for project deliverables, customer requirement compliance, and timely schedule performance
• Frequently interact with customers and suppliers including support of on-site meetings
• Provide design and process leadership for a global team
• Establish and maintain standard electrical component libraries to be used by the CS design teams in each of the global regions
• Conduct Project Design Review meetings to assure system design compliance and quality

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with control system design

Desired Characteristics:
• Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards applicable to electrical systems (UL, NEC, NEMA, CE, ATEX, CSA, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of Electrical Area Classification for component selection in the system
• Strong influence, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong presentation skills and adept at communicating with several levels of the organization
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with GE engineering tools (Energy PLM, SAP, etc.)
• Technical skills in engineering design and construction practices
• Proficient in use of PC software applications
• Proficient in use of AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor software application for hardware arrangement and electrical wiring drawings
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving ability
• Experience working with global teams in a matrix structure
• Experience meeting and exceeding agreed upon goals and measurements with minimum supervision
• Experience driving process changes across global organization
• Experience juggling multiple tasks successfully and working flexible hours
• Experience working directly with customers and demonstrating a customer service mind set
• Six Sigma Green Belt (GB), Black Belt (BB) or Master Black Belt (MBB) certified (GE employees only)
