Role Summary: In the role of Application Engineer, you will:
Be responsible for Engineering assessments in support of commercial operations, non-standard contracts and implementation of corporate procedures through quality processes
Direct a team of Engineers and technicians to help meet the various engineering support requirements of the USA business unit
Lead technical projects intended to improve productivity, reliability and reduce operating cost
Participate in design reviews in support of requisition engineering projects and NPI
Assist in overcoming Project related technical issues
Conduct failure investigations using PII’s ‘FIT’ process and industry recognized RCA techniques
Support the operations team to help resolve technical issues in the shop & in the field
Provide technical support to sales & commercial operation to enable the business to offer innovative and sound technical solutions to help our customers keep their pipelines safe
Provide face to face technical feedback to customers following failure investigations
Ensure all tools are configured correctly for the intended pipeline and inspection mission
Develop a working knowledge of all product lines
Conduct site visits / audits as needed
Be responsible for following the Application Engineering process through retention of documented evidence, quality process’s, to demonstrate compliance with each stage of the process
Participate in the Business Improvement Process as required
Act as a liaison between company and subcontractors
Be responsible for other duties as assigned
Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of electrical / electronic engineering or related engineering discipline
Ability and willingness to comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures
Ability and willingness to employ physiological movements and actions associated with office and clerical work
Ability and willingness to sit for long periods of time
Ability to travel by ground and air transportation throughout the United States up 5% of the time, as required
Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed during peak periods
Ability and willingness to use safety equipment in restricted area

Experience leading an initiative or project
Recognized qualification or experience using an RCA technique e.g. Six Sigma, Apollo, Shainin
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Strong interpersonal skills
Computer literacy with emphasis on spreadsheet and word processing
Strong analytical skills, both verbal and statistical
Excellent presentation skills
Cooperate with others in team environment for cross training and conference on operational issues.
Recommends procedures to: Learn new and existing work methods and change work methods to accomplish assigned tasks on a timely basis
Submits required reports and paperwork associated with the position (expense reports, time cards, progress reports, field service reports, etc.) on a regular and timely basis
