Role Summary:
In the role of Mechanical Assembler, you will:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical components into controls of moderate complexity by following controlled documentation, Standards and specifications
  • Accepts independent responsibility for compliance to Environment, Health and Safety
  • Assemble Hydraulic actuators by hand using hand tools bending tubing, drilling and taping
  • Employee must be able to flow back and forth between projects while maintaining departmental quality standards
  • Disassemble, clean, refurbish, and reassemble of controls removed from operating facilities
  • Quality control inspection of work and products during assembly and at completion
  • Provide support and backup of other team employees; be involved in establishing and achieving team goals while respecting the feelings, needs and varying viewpoints of others
  • Perform mechanical assembly and occasionally electrical assembly
  • Trouble shoot Hydraulic and mechanical schematics
  • Document and communicate by using a computer
  • Perform quality control inspection of work and products at completion
  • Interface daily with internal customers to meet business objectives and external customer requirements
  • Develop and improve assembly processes, written procedures and checklists
  • Operate forklift, crane and pallet jack
  • Follow all department policies and procedures

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly or repair type work, hydraulics, and pneumatics in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using / reading technical drawings

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Stand for 8 to 10 hours a day
  • Use hand and power tools for assembly
  • Work overtime, weekends and holidays, Saturday/Sunday as required
  • Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
  • Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
  • Lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
  • Understand, and follow detailed drawings, schematics, assembly drawings, customer specifications and assembly procedures

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Strong manual dexterity; steady hands to work with hand tools, parts and wrenches
  • Strong communication skills (effectively gives and receives information in verbal and written in English in a variety of circumstances)
  • Basic electrical assembly experience
  • Machining background
  • Experience in service oriented business
  • Flexible (effective under changing conditions and with different tasks, responsibilities and people)
  • Dependable (sets high goals for attendance and on-time performance for self and team members)
  • Attention to detail (ensures accuracy of tasks and processes to maintain consistent quality of outputs)
  • Strong computer skills, keyboarding / data entry knowledge
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Able to flow back and forth between projects while maintaining departmental quality standards
  • Ability to cross train in other departments
  • Safety-minded at all times
