Role Summary: The Chief Operating Officer, Applications is a critical executive leadership role within GE Digital Applications organization, serving as a key influential leader to build and develop programs and initiatives to support rapid growth of revenues from software application product lines. This includes driving continuous improvement initiatives across all application product lines and with key stakeholder organizations.
Essential Responsibilities: S/he will report to the Chief Product Officer and will own the vision and execution of programs and initiatives aligned to three key imperatives of Operational Excellence, Growth, and Culture.
In this role, you will:
Work closely with the management team in the global evolution of the Applications organization and ensure processes are effectively aligned to the design tenants of Customer Excellence, Simplicity, and Scalability.
Partner with the GE Digital Commercial organization to create a consistent and valued customer experience developing and scaling repeatable methodologies and proven best practices.
Partner with all Application Product Lines to institute an effective rooftop management strategy that aligns with staffing plans.
Partner with the CFO and Finance team members to implement best practices from leading software companies and install a set of operating metrics that tracks and effectively measures the health of the application product lines.
Partner with shared technical and business resources across multiple functions and shared centers of excellence (Engineering, Product, Software, Marketing, etc.) to effectively deliver and support solutions
Work as a business partner with product line leaders and stakeholders to evaluate/improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions for business process efficiency and productivity
Drive improvements and initiatives in partnership with relevant stakeholders or business owners to resolve critical issues and failures.
Work cross functionally to share best practices and modify processes and policies to improve overall customer experience
Drive business operations, ensure a customer centric operating model (must be easy to do business with, customer engagement across lifecycle, customer experience)
Mentor, coach and develop team members to increase their effectiveness as well as employee engagement by creating a continuous learning and collaborative environment
Year One Success: Key deliverables for this leadership role in the first 12 months will be:
Establish application team operating rhythm (Customer centric), drive strong accountability on outcomes / programs execution, etc.
Develop the capability to achieve attributable revenue to reach growth target
Drive a clear path to make our install base customers heroes using currently consumed products.
Develop, implement and operate with the tools and metrics of a world class digital industrial organization
