Role Summary: Join a dynamic and motivated software team focused on developing GE Healthcare's Mobile Digital Health products. Design and implement software on GE’s life critical medical equipment that provides a patient monitoring system solution. Software development will focus on a next-generation, real-time, communications framework.
Essential Responsibilities: • Collaborate with junior and senior software engineers to design solutions and drive those decisions into the design of the product • Work across the entire software development lifecycle including high-level and detailed design, software implementation, verification, and maintenance activities • Author software requirements and design specifications • Develop real-time and non-real-time software in C++ and Java • Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to verify the design and implementation • Participate in non-program, engineering improvements to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the software team • Collaborate locally and globally with a project team using the Agile Scrum methodology
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related degree within Engineering/Science discipline. 2. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Enterprise software development within a software development, technical industry or research environment. 3. Strong object oriented software development background. 4. Strong knowledge of C++/Java tools and frameworks. 5. Demonstrated ability to work with global teams to deliver a product or platform. 6. Working knowledge of network protocols and standards 7. Demonstrated track record of delivering challenging programs on time and budget while satisfying quality and performance requirements. 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting, discussing, and documenting technical information

Desired Characteristics: 1. Demonstrated record of working in medium sized, complex Software engineering programs in a multi-functional matrix environment 2. Master’s degree in Computer Science, or related Engineering degree 3. Deep technical experience in global software development and solid understanding of Patient Monitoring products and software platforms. 4. Outstanding communication, facilitation and influencing skills; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely 5. Experience with Java software development tools and processes, including, but not limited to: Maven, Ant, Eclipse, Coverity, Javadoc 6. Working understanding of Source Control concepts, Threading/Multi-threading, synchronization, and Applied Real-time concepts 7. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented and able to multi-task; tenacious and organized 8. Demonstrated problem solving ability and results oriented.
