Role Summary: We are looking for a highly motivated & passionate Analyst to join the GE Oil & Gas Digital Product Management team. As Analyst for Industry and Competitive Benchmarking, you will report to the Director of Business Models and Intelligence. You will be responsible for industry & competitor insights, strategic direction, and informing the Product management team how competitors are positioning their hardware and software in each industry segment and how that affects GE roadmap and positioning.
As Analyst, you will:
Work with Product Strategy, Product Management, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, and Commercial counterparts to ensure the organization develops and maintains a keen understanding of its competitors landscape to support each product market segment.
Provide insights with business implications and potential strategies using analytics and process development, contributing clear recommendations for long-term product planning and strategy
Deliver critical annual Strategic Roadmap insights such as profit pool analysis, industry trends, competitive threats, etc.
Support product management team with expanded market intel capabilities across value chain segments, regions and software sectors
Facilitate & support strategy sessions around industry & competitive intel deliverables with segment and regional teams
Drive industry insights to help product management create differentiated solutions that grow value in a volatile market
Through a ‘no surprises’ lens, establish a practice and rhythm to deliver timely rapid market intel and detailed competitor analysis to senior management for all critical aspects of market insights
Predict and mitigate future threats by working closely to educate segment and function leaders
Deliver competitor insights around existing competitors plus new and emerging threats in software industries
Execute in-depth competitive analysis and deep-dives to develop new business strategies; examples include new growth country analysis, new enterprise software engagement activities and emerging technologies/capabilities
Identify growth areas for acquired technologies
Collaborate with Marketing and Product Strategy to build processes for maintaining and leveraging accurate market sizing data and to ensure processes are sustainable and not ad hoc efforts.
Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, Program Management, Commercial, and Finance functions to inform efforts to create compelling offers, including product promotions, that drive interest and demand within target segments.
Work with Product Management colleagues to both deliver key, quantified guidance to Commercial team and Partners and receive insights from these counterparties to refine your models.
Ensure that maximum value is extracted from analyst reports, commissioned research studies, and the work of key counterparts by assessing and interpreting data and adjusting models.
Work closely with counterparts in the Field Enablement & Strategic Positioning team to ensure that the organization has an updated perspective on competitors’ offerings that is readily accessible.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
A minimum of 3 years of experience in competitive benchmarking

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Houston, TX
MBA or Masters in Applied Mathematics preferred.

Prior experience supporting the commercialization, launch, and scale-up of a SaaS solution highly desired.
Experience managing and successfully working with a geographically-distributed team.
Exceptional quantitative and qualitative analysis and problem solving skills.
Proactive in measuring the impact of his/her team’s contribution and product-market trends (cyclical or a shift)
Ability to interact with senior leaders within GE Oil & Gas.
