Role Summary: You will be the face of the product management vs. the external international standards, government institutes and insurance. In your role, you will be responsible to track all the changes in regulations, internationals standards that can/will impact the development /release of the SW product for the LNG, FPSO, Midstream, Refinery and Petrochemical industry and quickly translate it in product specs to be provided to the product team.
Key responsibility will also be following press releases and translate in product impacts.
In this role, you will:
Anticipate regulatory changes that can impact the LNG_FPSO_Midstream, Petrochemical, Refinery industry and advise the product leaders on changes required to the product to fulfill the requirements
Ensuring that the new product comply with all the regulations and laws pertaining to oil and gas business.
Working with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies and personnel on specific issues affecting O&G business. i.e. working with such agencies as API, INGAA.
Advising OGD on the regulatory aspects and climate that would affect proposed activities.
Works with relevant Regulatory Affairs staff to ensure that source documents are received in a timely manner to support the generation of submissions.
Track published news/press and translate events in inputs for the product management team and advertise in Linkedin.
Understand O&G insurance landscape and connect with insurance companies to identify opportunity for digital solutions to review premium mechanism.
Loopback insurance requirement to product management team to review product specs
Support on the creation of advertising material and publication linked to regulation.
Create an internal database of the applicable regulation and responsible to update
Leverage existing customer relationship to facilitate the discussion with the Product leadership team
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Process / Mechanical or Computer Science) or in international affairs
Minimum of 15 years of experience in external consultant, O&G industry and/or regulatory affairs
GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed

Must be willing to travel (40%)
Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA
The ability to conduct technical discussions and to write reports in English to a high standard and under tight deadlines is essential
Individuals should have extensive operational or policy making experience usually stemming from senior government positions or academic life. In some instances, a mix of public and private sector expertise could be beneficial. International exposure and familiarity with “best international practice” are key assets. Experts should have good analytical skills, well-developed oral and written communication, and fluency in English.
