Role Summary: The Sr Staff Technical Writer - Training is responsible for supporting the overall training program and products for GE Oil & Gas Digital, delivering training to our sales, development, and customer solutions groups and the continual improvement of engaging technical and solution training.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering training for all segments of Oil & Gas Digital applications. This includes new product introductions, maintaining existing courses, training deployment, training resources and evaluations.
Work in a global team environment to ensure that requirements for courses are met and that course development and delivery is completed on time and within budget.
Collaborate with information developers, product managers and UX designers on a global scale to gather and build training materials.
Develop training plans, training objectives and relevant course curriculum.
Lead as a subject matter expert for all e-learning initiatives including management, content creation and further growth of our training programs.
Deliver training using a variety of delivery methods (online, onsite instructor-led training, live webinars, podcasts, training videos, workshops, and events).
Maintain and coordinate course collections for LMS and CMS.
Define, monitor and provide metrics for training programs.
Evaluate and improve training products and processes.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related STEM discipline from an accredited university or college.
2 years’ experience with CRM, LMS or CMS managing course curriculum.

Previous Oil & Gas experience (production optimization experience is a strength) or Oil & Gas Inspection Technology hardware, services, software or consulting experience.
History of developing and deploying training in multiple formats (e.g., Print media, electronic documents, web pages, audio or podcast, multimedia presentations and training modules, distance learning components and deliverables).
Demonstrated ability to take strategy and turn it into “learnable” modules.
Superior classroom (physical and virtual) instructional skills.
Demonstrated high standard for clear, concise communication (written and verbal).
Strong understanding of training technology and adult learning concepts.
Strong knowledge of the following core development tools: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, CSS and HTML, screen-casting software (Camtasia, etc.), e-learning software (Lectora, Articulate, Captivate, etc.).
Developer-grade knowledge & experience with LMS and CMS.
Strong understanding and practical skills with IS/IT systems (e.g., server & client OS, databases & client tools, queries, web technologies).
Existing portfolio of training content created and/or delivered.
Experience serving global markets.
Professional training or practical experience of the AGILE development process.
High energy, results driven team-player with strong interpersonal skills and a quality mind-set.
