Role Summary:
This role is based in Billerica, MA, which is part of the GE Oil & Gas Digital Solutions business.

Essential Responsibilities:
In the role of Senior Materials Manager, you will:

  • Manage a team of material buyers and planners
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules
  • Plan and schedule material/production needs
  • Have a seasoned and deep understanding of concepts, approaches and methodology used
  • Have a deep expertise on the level of a technological field
  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs
  • Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs
  • Optimize inventory and process improvements and be considered a senior and seasoned practitioner
  • Work on complex technological solutions
  • Solve issues and develop new solutions require usage of methods and approaches with some precedence
  • Have authority in the network of experts and in project teams
  • Present product / program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leaders across GE
  • Input and influence decisions within own discipline and area
  • Communicate recommendations and solutions across direct organization and with cross-functional partner organizations
  • Be involved in complex decision making sometimes with external parties
  • Be involved in the implementation of SAP
  • Be involved in coordinating transfer of work activities

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Materials Planning and Execution including minimum 2 years of people management experience

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Established project management skills
  • SAP and Oracle experience an advantage
