Role Summary:
• Active participation and implementation of ALSTOM EHS & Quality practices in the workshop activities
• Rewinding and Repair of generator rotors, exciters and stators in workshop
• Support Spin pit and machining jobs
• Maintenance of the workshop equipment and tools
• Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Responsibilities:
  • • Active participation and support in implementation of new initiatives and lean programs
    • Self-development and knowledge sharing with the new recruiters or contractors to enhance working culture
    • Assure all works are proceeded in compliance to the Alstom’s Environmental, Health & Safety, as well as Ethic & Compliances-rules
    • Removal of old windings on generator rotor or stator.
    • Rewinding of generator rotor, exciter and stator.
    • Repair of generator winding and insulation systems in AME workshop or on site as required.
    • Inspection of hardware and consumables required for rewinding works.
    • Re-validation of components /shaft including blast cleaning & painting
    • Standard electrical testing to be performed during rewinding activities.
    • Final visual inspection of rotor and stator.
    • Electrical testing of Generator rotors
    • Support of balance facility team as required.
    • Write reports / protocols and timely submission for review/approval
    • Immediate reporting of Non conformities and/or deviations in the workshop
    • EHS, On Time Delivery and Quality of workshop products
    • All the self-conducted/supervised activities in the Workshop
    • Contribution to POWRA, EHS Observation cards, Process Improvement Suggestions in Workshop
    • Engagement in Tool Box Talks, Hazard Hunt, Improvements in area/process ownership
    • Reporting of NCRs and contribution to resolutions
    • Contribution to CoPQ and/or safe practices in workshop


Qualifications/Requirements:
• Technical education
• Languages (oral and written) English preferable
• Experience in performing manual winding work of turbo generators
• Working experience in a production environment
• Sound knowledge of winding processes
• Sound knowledge of operating induction machines
• Knowledge about insulation material
• Experience in carrying out dimensional measurements
• Experience in Mechanical assembly activities related to Generator rotors
• Knowledge and hands on skills about brazing
• Knowledge of common IT office tools
• Independent execution of rewinding and repair work as per technical instructions (procedures) and Generator Specialist and team leaders.
• Should be able to read and understand winding and mechanical assembly drawings.
