Role Summary:
As a member of our advanced technology team you will develop algorithms in the field of medical ultrasound imaging and image processing. You will play a crucial role in translating clinical feedback into innovative ideas and finally software solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The role requires a focus on the early stages of product development, such as scientific feasibility studies, simulations or algorithm development in the field of ultrasonic imaging and image processing.
  • This will entail interacting with groups such as systems engineering and clinical product management, in addition to internal and external academic and industrial R&D partners. You are the driving force for the digitization of our product platform by employing methods of machine learning and big data to help our customers.
  • You will also participate in the development of the architecture and specifications for our next generation ultrasound systems. You will evaluate the latest research on ultrasound imaging and image processing with respect to its clinical relevance and implementation possibilities.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • You have an advanced degree in physics, electrical engineering or a related field
    • The preferred candidate has also deep experience in signal processing, the physics of ultrasound, and beamforming.
    • Ideally you have already applied Deep Convolutional Neural Networks to medical imaging and you have excellent knowledge of libraries like TensorFlow, Keras, Theano, Lasagne etc.
    • A working ability in Python and C/C++ is expected as well as a very good standard of written and spoken English.

      Desired Characteristics:

      • Preference to candidates holding a PhD with emphasis on medical imaging or image processing.


      Collective Agreement provides a minimum gross salary of € 3.021,53 / month. Income depends on qualification and experience and might be higher.
