Role Summary: The Application Engineer / Sales Support is responsible for technical support of the ITO (inquiry to order) process for both new systems and aftermarket support bids. This position reports to the North America Sales Manager for the SPS product line.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Application Engineer / Sales Support you will:
Create and Manage Quotes for a complex engineered to order product line
Solicit bids on major subsystems
Create and manage aftermarket parts quotes, including aftermarket retrofits / re-designs
Review and influence customer specifications to assure compliance and/or noted exceptions for development of equipment and service quotations
Communicate individual customer requirements for Sales Manager in regards to design and quotation
Communicate requirements for order fulfillment to sourcing and operations
Direct customer management through clear communication internally and externally
Make technical presentations to all levels of customer organization
Develop engineering and installation work scopes, schedules and cost estimates to facilitate total scope project offerings
Manage and negotiate technical, commercial and contractual risk within the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process
Contribute positively to regional sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical background or sales support
Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time
Previous experience with Pumps / Rotating Equipment
Strong mechanical / mathematical problem solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Sound interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong customer mindset
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
General knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry
