Role Summary: The Director of Tax Operations & Technical Tax Accounting is responsible for all aspects of tax operations & technical accounting for GE Digital. The Director will partner with the tax shared service centers/tax centers of excellence and the GE Digital Finance functions (including Global Ops). The Director will also partner closely with tax colleagues within Digital and Corporate Tax.
Lead tax operations within GE Digital including tax financial planning & analysis, controllership, accounting and reporting
Advise GE Digital Senior Management on matters effecting ETR, cash flow, etc.
Advise senior Tax Leaders in GE Digital on tax operational implications of all matters within their area of responsibility
Partner with tax shared service/tax centers of excellence leadership to ensure the Tax quarter close process and related tax accounting activities (e.g., annual return to accrual & deferred tax analysis) and U.S. /local tax reporting processes meet both business & Corporate requirements
Partner with Corporate tax operations on initiatives to drive out inefficiencies and to streamline processes
Work cross functionally and across teams to drive tax compliance
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum 12 years of tax experience in major accounting firm, law firm or multinational company
Masters of Taxation and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
Desired Characteristics: Must Haves:
Demonstrated tax accounting experience
Knowledge of U.S. tax rules (international and domestic)
Experience in tax accounting principles (ASC 740, Fin 48, Sox 404)
Proven project management and coordination skills
Experience managing direct reports
Leadership experience with senior management interaction
Demonstrated strong communication skills
Ability to work cross functionally
Prior experience leading tax controllership and managing tax compliance
Strong technical tax expertise
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
