Essential Responsibilities:
The Fast Trak Senior Scientist Position differentiates itself for being in a global group that oversees the global biopharma industry and provides application support in the form of process development, consulting and/or training to the industry and academia. The position is in a highly dynamic group and provides many opportunities for individual career development.


Duties include (but are not limited to):

o Developing expertise for upstream and downstream process development and operation of large scale bioprocess equipment
o Working with, and providing expert advice to, customers in a strongly collaborative environment
o Adding value to GE’s customers by identifying continuous improvement opportunities in their bio-manufacturing processes and designing and implementing innovative process enhancement
o Designing, developing and delivering training courses, theoretical as well as practical, in the field of biomanufacturing for both internal and external Customers

o Maintaining accurate and complete records of all work, and report to customers and management in oral and written manner
o Conducting independent scientific application work on key projects (monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, recombinant proteins)
o Developing and maintaining relationships with the regional commercial and marketing teams, as well as the global Fast Trak and R&D organizations



Quality Specific Goals:

Quality Specific Goals:

1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
4. Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
5. Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements:
o BS/BA degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical engineering or related Life Sciences field
o 4+ years industrial experience in bioprocess/analytics development and scale-up .

Desired Characteristics:
o Advanced Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related Life Sciences field
o 6+ years of industry experience in vaccine, mAb, recombinant protein process and/or analytics development and tech transfer
o Deep scientific understanding of principles and theory behind unit operations for processing biologicals with knowledge in principles of scale up, validation, single-use, hybrid and traditional set ups and GMP manufacturing
o Working knowledge of FDA/EMEA regulations for biologics (Phase I-III and commercial manufacturing)
o Experience with Unicorn™and Assist software
o Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer focused environment
o Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationship with co-workers
o Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated good presentation skills of scientific material
o Able to operate and thrive in a high-paced, fluid environment
