Role Summary:
Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials from internal suppliers, external suppliers and inter-departments per production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs to meet on-time delivery dates.

Essential Responsibilities:
In the role of Senior Manufacturing Staff Manager, you will:

  • Drive a zero-tolerance environment for safety infractions. Promote safety, proactive behavior
  • Ensure that the materials and production planning and inventory control functions are supporting the needs of sales, product development, customer service and production in a cost effective and efficient manner
  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs
  • Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs
  • Optimize inventory and process improvements including reducing slow moving and excess inventory and increasing inventory turns
  • Support project managers with coordinating order shipping logistics where needed
  • Partner with sourcing and supplier quality to ensure material delivery meets production schedule
  • Continuously review and monitor departmental performance to ensure corporate objectives are being met
  • Identify any performance deficiencies and problems or opportunities for improvement in these areas of responsibility, and take initiative to solve the problems and realize the opportunities
  • Identify specific cost reduction opportunities and act to achieve cost reductions, or improve cost effectiveness, including introducing alternative sources where appropriate
  • Drive for continuous inventory turn improvement and implement best practice models to assure targets are achieved
  • Team leadership, including performance management, objective setting and motivation
  • Be aware of and comply with the GE Oil & Gas Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout materials department and in support of production floor lean, Oil & Gas Operating System and Brilliant Factory initiatives

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (OR High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution and minimum 9 years of experience in inventory management, shop operations, facilitation, and production control in a manufacturing environment, production planning, inventory management principles and practices, or materials management disciplines)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, shop operations, facilitation, and production control in a manufacturing environment, production planning, inventory management principles and practices, or materials management disciplines

  • Exhibit outstanding leadership skills, and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization including senior leadership
  • Self-motivated, high energy individual with passion for excellence and the ability to energize others
  • Proven ability to drive change in a matrix environment
  • Strong Logistics, Supply chain management and Material Management skills.
  • Hands-on experience using / implementing an SAP
  • Exposure to JIT, Kanban, and/or MRP
  • Experience implementing Lean manufacturing methods and practices
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability setting and meeting aggressive targets and goals
  • Results oriented and capable of leading projects; forward thinking & proactive
  • Flexible and adaptable: Open to change and modification of tasks.
  • Operational finance knowledge
  • Ability to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Strong business and analytical ability
  • Ability to effectively manage changing and conflicting priorities and resolve appropriately
