Role Summary: Join GE as a member of the Imaging Technology Compute Center of Excellence, which owns Compute Platforms for the various GEHC businesses. Work with the global team to establish technology roadmaps, define requirements, and deliver standardized compute platforms via New Product Introductions and maintenance programs. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Partner with cross-functional teams to lead and influence multiple compute projects 2. Establish requirements in partnership with product teams 3. Serve as a technology advocate in business and customer interactions, communicating technology strategy in a simple, understandable manner 4. Work with engineering, sourcing, and hardware teams to resolve hardware and software quality issues and to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts 5. Act as compute project leader for a cross-functional team to plan and successfully integrate computer platforms into New Product Introductions and Installed Base maintenance programs 6. Research and evaluate computer technologies against performance requirements for medical device applications across the GEHC product portfolio 7. Develop and maintain compute technology roadmaps, working together with stakeholders 8. Consolidate, define and document computer evaluation standards across multiple GEHC business units to a minimum viable superset 9. Work with internal and external stakeholders to standardize Operating Systems, peripherals, drivers, applications, and enable rapid adoption of the Healthcare Digital Framework (HDF) and Predix 10. Lead the planning, execution, and documentation of compute sub-system verification testing
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. BS in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or computer related field and 1-2 years of experience or equivalent (defined as High School Diploma/GED and 4 years progressive experience as an engineer, scientist within the appropriate field of study or within technical systems designs) 2. Experience with computer components including processors, graphics, networking, storage, and software 3. Experience with scripting languages (such as bash, perl, python) 4. Experience with Linux Operating Systems 5. Awareness of virtualization, containers, hypervisors, and fog/edge computing 6. Able to work effectively in a global cross-functional team environment 7. Self-starter, results oriented, and able to multi-task
