Essential Responsibilities: GE Energy Control Solutions, Inc. seeks a Lead Human Machine Interface (HMI) Engineer in Longmont, Colorado to serve as technical lead for field services support on Power Answer Center (PAC) and Customer Issue Resolution (CIR) cases for global controls projects. Design and create custom screens and software for Balance of Plant (BOP) projects. Design and implement complex projects that include 3rd party communication, Combustion Dynamics Monitoring (CDM), Programmable Logic Conrollers (PLC’s), and Opflex. Configure basic cyber security on Human Machine Interface (HMI) and switches. Test and validate HMI and networks in the lab. Create network communication topology design. Perform field installs of HMI systems.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Engineering (any field) and 5 years of progressively responsible post-Bachelor’s degree related experience in Human Machine Interface (HMI). Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Engineering (any field) and 2 years of related experience in HMI. Position also requires 2 years of experience with: visualization software such as Cimplicity; configuring Microsoft operating systems; Autocad or Visio; protocols such as Modbus, TCP/IP, and OPC; and network communication topology design. Position requires ability to travel domestically and globally up to 20% of the time to support customer design meetings and HMI equipment/networking equipment installation.
