Role Summary:

The Technical Product Owner ensures that delivery teams are focused on deliverables that bring the highest business value.
You are the interface between product management and engineering delivery teams, with the primary task of translating business needs into actionable, engineering-facing requirements, captured as stories in the Agile framework. You are the voice of the customer to the engineering teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

You will be able to effectively convey the product vision as well dive into the details of specific feature requirements.
You will be able to observe and analyze customers through a human lens to gain insight of what they are trying to accomplish, things that make their job difficult and their desired outcomes and then formulate high value capabilities to meet those needs.
Communicate product concepts to UX and UI teams to collaboratively create wireframe mockups and use these to get early feedback from stakeholders/customers
You are adept at prioritizing and reprioritizing stories based on tradeoffs such as development cost, technology constraints, customer value proposition, user experience, risk and need for early customer validation.
Based on technical feasibility, sustainability, team estimates and capacity, decide most appropriate release date for content, adjusting features and priorities as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Software Engineering OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in Software Engineering or Product Owner roles.

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally
  • Must be willing to work in Boston, MA

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Expert at working in an Agile engineering environment
  • Understand delivery of both, desktop and web-based software products.
  • Experience delivering commercial software as a SAAS offering in the cloud.
  • Understanding of UX design and UI development is required.
  • Prior experience with build tools, continuous integration, automation and dev ops is desired.

  • Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct
