Role Summary:

The Front End developer will work with the customer, product owner, and development team to implement user interfaces. This includes Javascript, CSS, HTML and web frameworks: AngluarJS, NodeJS, Polymer, Bootstrap, etc... You will be a member of an integrated team working to deliver successful outcomes around automation, software development, and the Predix platform.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.
  • Ability to take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members.
  • Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices.
  • Helps drive pair programming practices and code reviews across the team.
  • Expected to provide mentorship and training for other team members on UI topics
  • Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Understanding of Github and Git Pull requests
  • Strong Debugging/Troubleshooting expertise
  • Semantic markup w/HTML5/CSS3 and related front-end technologies
  • Object-oriented JavaScript including use of JQuery[UI]/Touch/Angular/Node/Backbone
  • Good Knowledge on many technology frameworks: Java, Python, Spring, MVC, AngluarJS, Polymer, ReactJS, NodeJS, NGINX, Apache, SOAP/REST webservices
  • Expert level Knowledge of development tools and integrated build systems: Eclipse, Jenkins, Maven, Automated testing
  • 3-5 years experience with Javascript
  • 2+ years experience with AngularJS/Polymer/ReactJS
  • 2+ years experience unit testing
  • Experience with NodeJS
  • Experience with Polymer
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Hands-on experience developing restful APIs
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to diplomatically advocate for appropriate support staffing levels
  • Strong analytical skills – strong problem solving skills, communicates in clear and succinct manner, and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions.
  • Anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
  • Resourceful and quick learner; able to effectively seek out, learn, apply new areas of expertise as needed
  • Highly self-motivated/able to work independently• Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems.
  • 2+ years Javascript experience
  • Previous experience leading or interacting with offshore teams
  • 3+ years experience using AngularJS
  • Promotes transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.
  • Demonstrates expert understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog.
