Role Summary:

As a Midstream Technical product leader, you will be responsible for translating the business vision into executable software strategy and roadmap working with the development team. In this role, you will be supporting the definition and involvement of the SW architecture. This role will focus on developing the roadmap for analytics framework & SW catalog, connectivity and edge devices. You will interact closely with Architecture team, GE Digital team, and O&G Product team. .

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Work with Development Team to translate the Business vision into executable strategy & roadmap
  • Support Definition and evolve the software architecture to support the long term product vision
  • Manage new technology implementations and/or technical architecture projects for the long-term needs or for risk mitigations
  • Oversee execution of the functional strategy, integration and deployment of end user features in conjunction with technical architecture and non-functional requirements
  • Work with multiple stakeholders (internal & external) to define the overall scope of their work and define the Quality metrics needed to monitor the performance of the ongoing work
  • Define the nonfunctional requirements associated with the systems working closely with technical leadership
  • Drive testable feature design and automation strategy across the solutions
  • Support the Agile product owners for ongoing development sprints prioritizing features to be developed based on technical competency and end user value metrics
  • Work directly with defined end users to align prioritized features for Agile development
  • Communicate business objectives and priorities for near term and long term to technical execution teams by leveraging technical experience

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM / Engineering (Mathematics / Mechanical / Electronics / Electrical / Computer Science or Information Technology)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Software Architecture design and / or development for industrial solutions

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel 20%
  • Must be willing to work out of an office preferably located in Houston

Desired Characteristics:
Technical Expertise:
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mathematics / Mechanical or Computer Science)
  • Agile & SCRUM development experience
  • Demonstrated program management and business planning processes, having experience with the full product lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience of Agile software development of customer facing industrial applications
  • Strong domain knowledge in data management, data analysis and advanced analytics across heterogeneous data sets
  • In-depth knowledge of the technology and vendor landscape for Big Data Management & Analytics
  • Strong experience using Hadoop ecosystem, Map-Reduce, Spark, NoSQL (HBase, MongoDB etc.), and Cassandra
  • Experience using Scripting languages such as Pig, Python, Perl, etc.
  • Experience using frameworks and languages such as R, Matlab, Scala, SAS, Apache Storm, Apache Spark
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools such as QlikView, Sisense, Looker, Pentaho, Microstrategy, or Tableau
  • Experience with analytics development for industrial applications in a commercial/industrial setting
  • Hands-on experience in doing data analytics for large and varied data sets, including time-series sensor stream data.
  • Proven experience in using well-established supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods for large industry-strength data analysis problems.
  • Awareness of industry best practices for data quality assessment and transformations, feature engineering, and model fit evaluations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating customer need into data and analytics requirements
  • Demonstrated and externally recognized expertise in data science technology and industry trends
  • Demonstrated skill in data management methods and analytic scaling
  • Experience with scalable differentiated algorithms from heterogeneous data such as time series data from sensors, physics models, weather data, text, images etc.
  • Familiarity with large data sets, cloud based development and deployment, open source practices and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior technology leadership and architects to support development of system architecture to support functional roadmap
  • Knowledgeable of relevant technologies for edge devices, Hypervisor, device management standards, PPPoA, ATM networks, and white listing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading virtual development teams with ability to prioritize respective work scopes to meet customer facing contract requirements
  • Demonstrated development of largescale, web-based solutions involving multiple systems and demonstrated experience in Strategy definition, System & Solution Design, Estimation, Development across various stake holders, System Integration, Acceptance, Deployment, Operations & Monitoring
  • Demonstrated architectural development of (or should be knowledgeable to architect) systems.
