GEIQ is one of GEs Engineering Center based in Queretaro city Mexico, that hosts over 1800 employees serving the Aviation, Power, O&G, Renewables and Energy Connections businesses.
The Lab Manager is responsible to define and execute the laboratories strategy; that enables GEIQ autonomy and full test capability to support Field, customer issue response, failure analysis, validation and engineer’s exposure to hardware testing in a safe, efficient, compliant manner
EHS, Security, quality, compliance standards and procedures definition, review, maintenance and documentation
Establish labs KPIs and metrics, measurement, reporting and rhythm systems that enable business to fulfill their priorities and labs vision, included but not limited to: labs use, efficiency, ROI, audit results, certification status, workload management, impact, quality, user satisfaction, etcetera.
Supplies reordering planning and execution
OPEX/CAPEX Financial ownership (planning, execution and forecast)
Lab equipment calibration, maintenance and certification programs development and execution
Shipment, scrap disposition logistics
Customs requirements definition with appropriate organizations
Inventory management and report to operations and finance
Liaison with other laboratories across the world to share experience and learning to focus efforts on GEIQ capabilities and expertise.
Focal point with other functions such as finance, operations, sourcing, HR, etc
Prioritize and maximize resources use and requirements aligned to business priorities, communicating them to stakeholders
Establish processes, systems, mechanisms to train and enable hands on lab users while capturing best practices
Bachelor’s Degree plus 10 years of experience
Demonstrated solid technical skills and experience in accordance with lab management such as:
Testing execution in a safe, compliant and efficient manner
EHS (plan, implementation, training, audits), procedures for personnel safety, machine installation, operation and maintenance, materials, tools & chemicals, labs residues disposal.
Security procedures: Parts, suppliers and personnel access, inventory control, proprietary information.
Mechanical lab equipment use (e.g. vibration table, microscopy, tomography, thermal chamber, signal conditioners, tension machine, impulse test, control sys.)
Lab equipment maintenance and calibration plans creation/execution
Quality procedures, best practices writing/implementation, KPIs definition/measurement/follow up
Shipment, scrap and disposition plan creation/execution
Lab users training
Hardware/systems fabrication to enable testing
Experience coordinating relevant projects with higher autonomy/ownership using
Experience managing high level of conflict, strong collaboration across functions, teams, generations, etc
Highly independent management of GE processes
Excellent written, oral and comprehension abilities in English and Spanish, fluency, rhythm and self-confidence in the language to be able to handle meetings and conversations.
Experience with strain gauges, soldering,
Aviation, Energy or O&G Industry experience
