Role Summary:


As an IT Security Engineer, you'll utilize your expertise to help ensure the highest level of security for high-stakes ($100mm and larger) programs.


You will be afforded the opportunity to exercise your knowledge of all IT infrastructure technologies including desktops, networks, servers, storage, backups and applications as well as providing insight on improving operational and security processes and procedures within the security domain.



Essential Responsibilities:


In addition you will :


  • Own and manage operations technology projects
  • Work with Design and Build teams to establish operational procedures for new products and technologies
  • Assist in the modification or establishment of operating practices
  • Troubleshoot issues with various infrastructure elements and manage support escalations, as necessary
  • Assist in maintaining procedures and controls necessary to ensure and protect the safety and security of all information systems assets
  • Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain PCs, servers, advanced workstations, HPC, and LANs in a fast-paced, secure environment
  • Apply strict security profiles in accordance with the National Security Program Operations Manual (NISPOM), and other government customer guidelines



    Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • OR, an Associates Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited school or institution with a minimum of 2 years of information systems design, implementation, or integration
  • OR, A high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of information systems design, implementation, or integration

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :


  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD TOP SECRET security clearance
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment



    Desired Characteristics:


  • Ability to thrive in a demanding and fast-paced operational environment
  • Experience with various operating systems and platforms with core skills in one or more of the following: Red Hat Linux, UNIX, Windows 7 / 10, Windows Server 2008 / 2012, Oracle, NetBackup, Cisco IOS, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated success in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • IT Security experience and certifications
  • Active US government S / TS security clearance
