Role Summary:
As Staff Analytics Engineer – Developer, Orchestration, you will be responsible for composing architecture tools, stitching software components and automating workflows in a cloud environment to deliver defined services and provide support for analytic products and enterprise grade applications at scale.

Essential Responsibilities:

An Ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about
design and development, learn & adapt to changing technologies, and can
work effectively both independently and in a team of developers.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop automation/orchestration within a cloud environment.
  • Work with development teams to integrate with external
    systems to create a fully automated dev-to-production release cycle.
  • Ensure architectural service designs and improvements are
    implemented accurately and are supported according to definition and service
    level agreements.
  • Work in an Agile Scrum team and support development of
    analytic software products on an Internet of Things (IOT) platform.
  • Work closely with multiple stake holders that includes
    engineers with oil & gas domain expertise to deliver high quality scalable
    software
  • Own product or product modules, develop and maintain the
    same.
  • Participate in design and code reviews. Come up with ideas
    for product improvement and communicate the same to the stake holders.
  • Engage key technical & subject matter experts across the
    business for knowledge capture into the solution.
  • Be able to influence from a technical standpoint across the
    function and business. Ability to influence at the peer level is key.
  • Optimize and define new processes and tools, to enable large
    scale enterprise-grade software development.



Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors
    (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • 5 years of technical experience in large scale web
    application development.
  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards
    relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. We will not sponsor individuals for
    employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Must be willing to travel (5%)
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San
    Ramon, USA



Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of distributed automation/orchestration
    architectures.
  • Experience with automating/integrating to a REST APIs and
    CLI methods, XMLRPC, SOAP, WEBDAV
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, Cloud Foundry or cloud native
    apps
  • Expertise with managing, deploying, or integrating with
    OpenStack Software development
  • Experience in working in Scrum teams and Agile methodology
  • Must be a team player with great attitude.
  • Works well in fast paced growing environment.
  • Effective teaming and problem solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Able to interface effectively with peers in the organization
  • Ability to learn new technologies and take on hands-on
    development work based on business priorities

Technical Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems, Linux/UNIX, SQL and
    agile software development methodologies
  • Knowledge of storage ecosystem for cloud, big data,
    databases, and virtualization; examples include AWS, OpenStack, HDFS, Hadoop,
    MongoDB etc.
  • Proficient in C++, Java, Python Unit Tests, Test Driven Development
    and Continuous Integration
  • Exposure to Big Data trends and patterns around building
    analytics is a plus.
  • Knowledge about build tools like gulp/grunt, maven etc.

  • Strong business analysis and problem solving skills
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and
    with other GE businesses

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help build
    effective solutions
