Role Summary:

The Incubation Group Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for planning leading, organizing and motivating project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering customer focused projects based on the Predix Industrial Internet platform. Essential Responsibilities:

The PM will use a high level of knowledge and experience of blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in order to connect customer assets and build a modular, configurable library of software micro services that can be repeatedly used in future development projects. Additionally, the PM will:

  • Translate customer requirements into project tasks with clear work items and measurable progress milestones. Manage project execution and deliver programs on time and to committed cost targets
  • Define and implement a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management
  • Hold teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members
  • Manage customer expectations for project work items, managing stakeholder communications, and implement an effective system of project governance
  • Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team
  • Work directly with customers and commercial teams to define project scope and key outcomes
  • Manage the change order process with customer to secure additional revenue when project scope changes
  • Deliver projects in a way that captures knowledge generated so this knowledge can be reused in subsequent programs
  • Work with Product Management and Engineering as required to optimize the solution and provide input into new product capability requirements
  • Organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and be overall accountable for delivery of assigned projects
  • Work with local and global teams to deliver projects n time in full

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience leading complex, customer facing projects
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level
  • Understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
  • PMP preferred
  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies
  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
  • Bias for action and positive mental mindest
  • Experience project leading globally located and diverse teams
