Role Summary:
Responsible for performance testing of a component, feature and/or feature set. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. S/he contributes to Quality Engineering discussions.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Own medium-sized Performance Test Engineering tasks; and delivers while mentoring and helping team members
  • Make technology choices at individual level and has ability to analyze impact
  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
  • Integrate performance testing with continuous-integration process
  • Work with fellow team members to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions
  • Provide expertise in the Performance engineering, planning and methodology
  • Develop and executes maintainable automation performance suites

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Software Quality Testing OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in Software Quality testing with expertise in product validation and test automation.
  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA

    Desired Characteristics:

    Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience and ability to write Java code and/or shell scripting.
  • Experience with establishing Performance KPIs at both component and system level.
  • Experience in testing web services and microservices.
  • Experience with issue-tracking and agile project management systems such as Confluence, Rally, etc.
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
  • Experience working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/performance infrastructure
  • Experience in load testing frameworks like LoadRunner/JMeter
  • Excellent RCA and debugging capabilities.
  • Exposure to cloud foundry infrastructure

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
  • Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends
  • Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices

  • Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results
