Role Summary: GE Renewable Energy is seeking a Principle Architect to shape the future of the Renewable Energy Digital Ecosystem. As we continue to build out the Renewable Energy Digital Industrial business, you will define, own and drive the evolution of our core platform architecture.
Essential Responsibilities: Reporting to our Principle Technology Officer, the candidate will be part of a global team tasked with defining the future state architecture covering core cloud & edge platforms, solutions strategy, and product strategy at GE Renewable Energy. You need to be comfortable working in an agile environment, thinking strategically, yet nimbly, taking smart risks to execute our technical strategy.
In this role you will:
Define and architect GE Renewable Energy Predix based digital Ecosystem. Not merely incremental steps, but be prepared for big swings.
Define principles that guide technology decisions and the relationships between industry context (industry and market trends) and specified technology.
Identify driving CTQ’s including gaps or alignments that drive agile development activities.
Promote the Software Architecture process, outcomes and results to the organization and senior business leadership.
Lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to guide architecture decision making.
Lead the development of software and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for customer outcome delivery
Stay abreast of the "state of the art" as it relates to platform, integration and messaging trends throughout the software industry.
In collaboration with the application teams, define, develop, maintain, and communicate the platform strategy that will be used by our teams and systems.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 15+ years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across product lines.
At least 10 years of progressive experience in building resilient platforms, software as-a service, architecture and integration.

Strong background in Cloud Architecture, Cloud based Products, cloud based software as-a service and Cloud/On-Premise hybrid solutions.
Demonstrated experience in Cloud based Software-as-a-Service software development & Architecture, delivering Cloud/On-Premise Hybrid solutions, Edge Industrial controls architecture
Leads the business-wide technical and business discussions relative to future Renewables Software platform direction, aligning architecture strategy with business goals.
Reviews and/or analyzes and develops architectural requirements, as needed for software products.
Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide architecture decision making.
Proactively identifies reuse goals, opportunities and related explorations.
Cultivates a culture that proactively uses market data to drive growth. Continually monitors industry dynamics and market trends, and anticipates how those trends will impact GE's and our customers' profitability.
Works with Senior Business leadership to approve allocation of budget to meet architectural initiatives critical to business/mission success.
Ensures business-wide on-time delivery and architectural alignment with project goals and requirements.
Ability to set / change direction at the enterprise level by building and using direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas, uses chains of indirect influence.
Demonstrated ability to lead a global architectural organization, setting a vision, driving accountability across time zones, regional and cultural lines.
Work with ambiguity, creates a vision and drive outcomes that meets business needs following a technology strategy.
